Work progress
- 4,364 people from San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexicali, and surrounding rural communities participated in our Community Involvement in the Colorado River Delta Program. The Reforesta San Luis campaign promoted reforestation, donation, and production of 9,436 native trees to create green areas in the Miguel Aleman restoration site, Cucapah Wetland, and public spaces in the city of San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
- In the Miguel Aleman restoration site, we planted almost 20,000 trees of: Goodding's willow (Salix gooddingii), Poplar trees (Populus fremontii), Sweet mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa), Yellow paloverde (Parkinsonia microphylla), and Ironwood (Olneya tesota), all of which are species that are native to the region.
- After one year of work, we recorded around 70 species of birds and an abundance of more than 22,000 specimens, particularly shorebirds, at Cucapah Artificial Wetland, which is located in the San Luis Rio Colorado Wastewater Treatment Plant.
