About Pronatura Noroeste

We are the regional representation of the Pronatura National System, the oldest and largest conservation non-profit org in Mexico.

We initiated our work on June 5, 1991 in Guaymas, Sonora. Nowadays we have 7 regional offices distributed in northwest Mexico. Day by day an amazing and passionate team of technicians and specialists work together, committed to our mission,  to carry out each project with transparency and excellence.

Each project we launch includes conservation goals and common objectives to the northwest of Mexico to achieve sustainability in the region and preserve nature.

We engage nature conservation with communities development, fulfilling fundamental tasks like restoration and ecosystems conservation, marine surveillance, fishery improvement, governance in natural protected areas, environmental education and protection of endangered species.

We carry out our work in the ecoregions of the Baja California peninsula, Sonora, Sinaloa y Nayarit, the western side of Chihuahua, Durango, Jalisco and Colima, the Gulf of California and its islands, and the economic exclusive zone of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean belonging to the states aforementioned.

Our mission, common with Pronatura National System:

The conservation of flora, fauna and priority ecosystems in Northwestern Mexico to promote the development of society in harmony with nature.

 

Our History
