Joining Forces for Los Planes Watershed
Through continuous research labor, we carried out systematic sampling and exhaustive analyses in order to collect information about various aspects of Los Planes Watershed’s biodiversity and hydrology. That includes studying its ecology from both an individual species standpoint and how interaction between different groups, and species’ distribution patterns, are related. Additionally, we evaluate and compare areas with different conservation, recovery and sustainable use periods.

A Future Sustained By Science and Conscience
We commit ourselves to aid the local community by organizing bonding and educational activities to promote environmental awareness, sharing scientific knowledge and promoting citizen science for biodiversity conservation. Scientists, researchers from the CIBNOR, academics from UABC and UABCS, as well as students and volunteers participate in the educational lessons, sharing their valuable experiences with the Kumutú STEAM explorers and inhabitants from nearby communities.
The research project in Los Planes Watershed has Pronatura Noroeste and the San Diego Natural History Museum joining forces to measure the ecosystem resilience and response based on the results and management of the hydrologic restoration the community has carried out for more than ten years.
Join this exciting research trip, conservation and community participation in Baja California Sur.
