Ejido Gomez Farias and Pronatura Noroeste A.C. signed a Conservation Contract for 20 years to protect 900 hectares of Laguna Babícora in Chihuahua, one of the most important sites used by waterfowl in the central migratory route.

The Pronatura Noroeste Bird Conservation program conducts protection and habitat management activities in the lagoon, known as the land of cranes and geese, where more than 60% of the populations of Sandhill Crane (Grus canadiensis), Snow Goose (Chen caerulescens), and Ross’s Goose (Chen rossii), and a high concentrations of several ducks and shorebirds, can be found.

This agreement reaffirms the commitment of the community and the association to continue working for conservation.
