In accordance with the provisions of the Mexican Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Private Parties, we inform you of our Privacy and Personal Information Handling Policies:

Who Is Responsible for Protecting your Personal Information

Pronatura Noroeste A.C. (hereinafter referred as “Pronatura Noroeste”), located at Calle Décima, No. 60, Zona Centro, Zip Code 22800, Ensenada, Baja California is responsible for the collection, use, and protection of your personal information.

Personal Information System

The system constitutes the organized set of personal information held by Pronatura Noroeste.

Guiding Principles

The processing of personal information shall be governed by the following principles: lawfulness, quality, transparency, security, and consent. Additionally, such information shall be accurate, adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is collected.

Personal Information Processing

Any processing of personal information shall require the express consent of the individual to whom it belongs, except when such information is collected in connection with the exercise of the inherent functions of Pronatura Noroeste; whenever these are related to an agreement, contract, or pre-contract relationship of a labor or administrative nature in which Pronatura Noroeste acts as one of the involved parties and such information is necessary for its maintenance and compliance. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed, and provided in writing.

Intended Use of your Personal Information

Your personal information will be used for the following purposes: to provide the services and products that you have requested; to inform you of any changes to those services or products; to evaluate the quality of the service provided to you; to improve the content featured on the www.pronatura-noroeste.org website (hereinafter referred to as the “WEBSITE”); to customize the structure and design of the WEBSITE segments or on an individualized basis; to notify our users of updates on the WEBSITE; to maintain communication with users and prospective users for marketing purposes; to enable online access where a username and password are required; to support marketing efforts and research; to maintain the security of the WEBSITE and prevent fraud, as well as to send account statements, quotations, or receive payments from you(derived from the services we have provided to you), which will be used solely and exclusively for the fulfillment of the corporate purpose of the organization, along with the creation of alliances with communities, businesses, authorities, and non-governmental organizations that allow us to combine forces and produce more meaningful outcomes.

Personal Information Collection and Means of Acquisition

For the intended purposes set forth in this privacy notice, we may collect your personal information through various means: whenever you provide it to us directly, whenever you visit our WEBSITE, and/or whenever we acquire information through other lawful sources. The personal information we collect may include: Full name, gender, address, phone number, Mexican Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC, for its initials in Spanish), email address, bank details, as well as information from each visitor to the WEBSITE (our web server may automatically collect, store, and process the domain name of the user and information regarding the browser during their visit). Pronatura Noroeste does not sell or rent this information, as it is exclusively used for internal purposes.

Personal Information we Collect Directly

We collect your personal information directly when you provide it to us, including when accessing our services through the WEBSITE. This information will be used solely and exclusively for the fulfillment of the corporate purpose of Pronatura Noroeste. All financial transactions on our WEBSITE are processed through PayPal, FundraiseUp, GlobalGiving, and Stripe. Their privacy policies are available on their websites at PayPal, FundraiseUp, GlobalGiving, and Stripe. We will share only the information necessary to process the corresponding transaction. Pronatura Noroeste ensures the proper handling of personal information to prevent any unauthorized disclosure that could harm the dignity and privacy of the affected party. The individual to whom the information belongs may choose to opt out of future emails by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each email, or by sending a message to the Privacy Team (DATOS PERSONALES). Any opt-out request from our newsletter, and any other database available to us, is to be respected. These requests are to be confirmed through an email sent to the user in order to inform them that they have been removed from our database.

Enforcing ARCO Rights

The individual to whom the information belongs has the right to access the personal information we hold, including details regarding its processing; to correct or delete such information if it is inaccurate, inappropriate, irrelevant, excessive, or incomplete; or if, in the opinion of the user, it is not necessary for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Notice; or if it is being used for purposes other than those previously consented to.

Procedure for Enforcing ARCO Rights (access, rectification, erasure, and objection)

The ARCO rights described above may be enforced by submitting a written request, signed by the the individual to whom the information belongs—either personally or through an authorized representative—in Spanish, which must be submitted free of charge to the authorized address for receiving such requests: Calle Décima, No. 60, Zona Centro, Zip Code 22800 Ensenada, Baja California, or via email to comunicacion@pronatura-noroeste.org. Requests for access, rectification, erasure, or objection to the release of information must be submitted in writing and must include at least the following information: – The name of the user and, if applicable, their legal representative, along with documentation proving such representation or legal status; – A statement of and proof of their interest; – The name of the third party concerned, if any; -A description, as precise as possible, of the name and location of the file or data record, as well as the person who collected your information; – The accuracy personal data of the request for access, rectification, erasure, or objection to its release; – The reasons why it is believed that the specified data record or file contains information regarding the individual, and that such information is discriminatory, poses a risk to the individual’s physical integrity, or is false or inaccurate; and, – The signature of the petitioner, their representative, or a person acting on their behalf if the petitioner is unable to do so, where applicable. The request may be filed at any time.

Revocation

At any time, the individual to whom the information belongs may revoke the consent provided to us for the processing of their personal information, so that it is no longer used. To do so, they must submit a written request containing the following information: – Full name (first name(s) and last name(s); – A simple copy (both sides) of your official identification or, if submitted electronically, a scanned version of it; – Phone number; – Mailing address or email address for receiving notifications; – Revocation of consent for the processing of personal data provided to Pronatura Noroeste; and, – Signature. Within a maximum of thirty business days from the date of receiving your request for revocation, we will respond regarding the validity of your request, either via email addressed to you, sent to the email address you provided in the request itself, or via official letter delivered to the address designated for this purpose (in this case, the thirty business days will be deemed to have elapsed upon delivery of the document to the postal service). The party responsible for your personal information is not obligated to delete personal information as provided by the Mexican Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Information Held by Private Parties.

Updates or Changes to the Privacy Notice

Pronatura Noroeste reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Notice at any time. Any modifications made will be made available to the general public through the following channels: the website (www.pronatura-noroeste.org) or via email (at the address provided by the individual to whom the information belongs).

Please be advised that we do not currently use cookies; however, this does not prevent us from implementing their use in the future for the following purposes: – To understand our visitors’ preferences; – To analyze information about your visit; – To maintain a history of visits and user actions; and – To detect and correct any issues that may have arisen during your visit. Pronatura does not sell or rent information to companies that offer advertising services on websites and portals. Likewise, the website www.pronatura-noroeste.org has no special relationship with any other similar company or with companies offering such services.
