Recently, the Morena parliamentary group proposed to the Fisheries Commission an initiative that suggests empowering the Secretary of the Navy to propose, coordinate, and execute inspection and surveillance activities in matters of fisheries and aquaculture.
In light of this, we participated in a series of talks promoted by Collective Impact for Mexican Fisheries and Aquaculture* to analyze the opportunities and risks of the proposed transfer of powers and discuss the suggestions for improvement to the proposal made by various sectors.
