A total of 50 members of the Environmental Gendarmerie participated in a training workshop where they addressed issues facing Natural Protected Areas in the state of Baja California, such as illegal capture and trafficking of protected species, disorderly tourist visitation and its impact on soil compaction, garbage generation, habitat degradation, among others.
The workshop was organized by Pronatura Noroeste with the Baja California Peninsula and North Pacific Regional Directorate of the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas and established the steps to follow to improve coordination between the Federal Attorney’s Office for Environmental Protection and the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas.
