Environmental conservation is no longer an option in our societies, and has become everyone’s responsibility. The planet manifests in many ways the urgency of reversing the inertia of civilization, that often puts biodiversity at risk, and northwestern Mexico, a region of enormous ecological wealth, is no exception.  our coasts and mountain ranges, through the desert, rivers, and wetlands, there is an incredible abundance of resources that we must enjoy, care for, and conserve. 

The best way for new generations to face a future of well-being in harmony with nature is through the collaborative work of civil organizations, businesses, government, and the community itself. At Pronatura Noroeste, we build alliances with institutions that are sensitive to environmental issues and share a vision of sustainable development. 

CAFFENIO is an example of a socially responsible company, with whom we share some of our most important causes: ecological balance, sustainability, and education for conservation. One of the educational activities carried out by this Sonora-based company is Cuentos con causa (Tales with a Cause), which  promotes environmental issues with an accessible and attractive language, via capsules and videos aimed to our region´s children and youth. 

Cuentos con causa consists of stories illustrated with cartoons and animation, with a didactic structure, to recognize universal values, traditions, social, environmental and health causes in the community. The protagonists of these stories are children, families, and even animals as characters that convey messages of culture and citizenship. This project has evolved to become a reference for various institutions which approach CAFFENIO to join and participate. 

The production of Cuentos con causa began in March 2020, together with Foro Cuatro Tv, and the writer and storyteller Rosa Vilá Font. The campaign has continued since then, with a new production every week, aired through different media and digital platforms. 

 Just as we at Pronatura Noroeste carry out conservation education work, CAFFENIO contributes its Cuentos con causa throughout the northwest region of Mexico, as a learning tool for children to identify values from an early age to act responsibly and satisfactorily with the natural environment.
