As part of the Conservation Program for Education of Pronatura Noroeste, A.C. and with aid of the National Council for Educational Development (CONAFE), a workshop called “Marine Environment and Fishing” was held at three different locations: El Vizcaino, Ciudad Constitución and La Paz, Baja California Sur. It was directed to young people that work towards education –educational figures within CONAFE–. The workshop was held on July 23 and 30, and August 6, 2016 respectively.
Derived from the collaboration agreement, Pronatura Noroeste trains leaders for community education (LEC) CONAFE. Preschool and elementary level at rural communities is taught where social service is offered. At this time 82 people were trained: 30 in El Vizcaino, 40 in Ciudad Constitución and 12 educational advisers and tutors in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
Performing this workshop together allows us to build networks to reach remote communities promoting environmental education and to expand our coverage at priority sites.
Our Conservation for Education Program uses teaching strategies that promote changes of attitude and formation of values related to nature conservation.
